On Saturday, July 18, the Coronation RCMP began an investigation involving an individual pulling down an active power pole belonging to ATCO power with a motor vehicle.
Through investigation, Kenneth Allan Staudt (37 years old) of Galahad was identified as the subject responsible.
On Monday, July 20, Camrose Police Service (CPS) investigated the theft of a truck and a dumpbox trailer belonging to Scott’s Quality Lawn Care in Camrose. CPS’s investigation determined that Staudt had stolen both items.
The truck has been returned to the rightful owner and the trailer has not been located at this time.
On Wednesday, July 22, the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (EAD CRU) located and arrested STAUDT in Galahad.
He has been charged with wilfully damaging property exceeding $5,000, thereby committing Mischief and breaching his probation order; both occurring on July 18.
He was remanded into custody and is set to appear by CCTV at the Red Deer Court of Justice on July 29, 2026.
CPS has also charged STAUDT with Theft of a motor vehicle, Theft of a dumpbox trailer over $5,000, Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000, and a breach of Probation from the events that occurred on July 20.
He was remanded on these charges as well and was set to appear by CCTV on July 29, 2026 in the Camrose Court of Justice.
