FRESS hires new Deputy Fire Chief
Kevin Lunty has been appointed as the new Regional Deputy Fire Chief for the Flagstaff Regional Emergency Services Society, effective May 1. With extensive experience in fire service and community safety, Lunty will oversee operations and training while supporting strategic priorities. He has resigned as Station Chief of Forestburg FRESS.

Annual gala held for Killam Firefighters
On January 30, members of the FRESS Killam Fire Station held their annual gala to honor their service. Mayor Les Fee praised their dedication and safety in responding to 68 calls in 2025. Station Chief Joe Knievel thanked members and families for their support, highlighting the importance of their work and community contributions.

Lougheed firefighters help flood outdoor rink
The Lougheed Station’s FRESS firefighters supported the community by assisting in the setup of an outdoor skating rink at the new park. Throughout the winter season, they contributed by flooding the ice to ensure optimal skating conditions. Photos were provided by FRESS.
