Forestburg council approves 2.5 per cent overall tax hike
The Forestburg council approved a 2.5 percent municipal tax hike amid budget pressures at their May 21 meeting. Chief Administrative Officer Dwight Dibben indicated rising costs and diminishing provincial support necessitated the increase. Despite concerns over property assessments and minimum tax rates, the council passed the new tax bylaw, with one councillor opposing it.
