Camrose Police Report – multiple assault charges, resisting arrest

Police responded to a complaint of an intoxicated male refusing to leave a residence after being directed to do so by the homeowner. Officers provided the male with the option to leave voluntarily or be taken into custody; however, he remained uncooperative. When officers attempted to arrest the male for breach of the peace, he became combative and resisted arrest.

Constable Jesse Steil joined the Killam/Forestburg RCMP Detachment after completing his training in June. Raised in central Alberta and previously a dispatcher, he pursued a policing career inspired by his rural upbringing. Steil enjoys working in a supportive community and values the diverse experiences in a rural detachment. He enjoys golfing and winter sports outside of work.

Camrose RCMP hosts first ever youth academy

From July 27-29, 2026, the Camrose RCMP hosted its inaugural 3-day Youth Police Academy for students in grades 9-12. Participants learned about policing careers, engaged in scenario training, and earned high school credits. Out of 17 applicants, 15 completed the program, demonstrating high interest and motivation for law enforcement.
