Camrose Police Report for the period from June, 2026
Notable Incidents
Theft
A person reported the theft of approximately $50 worth of firewood from their property. A description of the subject vehicle was provided. Further investigation led to the arrest and charging of a 47-year-old female.
Attempted theft
Police arrested and charged a youth with attempted theft, public mischief and using a disguise with intent, after an investigation revealed the youth had entered a local liquor store wearing a mask and attempted to steal a bottle of liquor.
Warrant out of Brooks
Police arrested a male on an outstanding warrant out of Brooks.
Stolen licence plate
A person reported the licence plate of their vehicle had been stolen and replaced with, what was determined to be, another stolen licence plate out of Edmonton.
Impaired driving
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The 66-year-old female operator of the vehicle showed signs of impairment and was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction and violation tickets.
Scam
A person reported being scammed out of approximately $1235 by a telephone caller, identifying as a representative of a known not-for-profit organization, indicating the victim had won a large sum of money and a new truck.
Assault
A person reported being assaulted at a local motel. This matter is still under investigation.
Criminal harassment
Police charged a male with criminal harassment, uttering threats (two counts) and extortion, based on an earlier complaint and investigation.
Theft
A person reported theft of approximately $400 cash from their purse at a local business. This matter is under investigation.
Stolen vehicle
A person reported their vehicle stolen from the area of 60 Street and 4100 Block.
Public intoxication
A person reported a male acting erratically on Main Street. Police attended and located and arrested the male subject for public intoxication, housed him in Camrose Police Service cells and released him in the morning when sober.
Assault
A person reported being assaulted on Main Street by three male subjects. A youth was arrested for assault and released to a guardian.
Stolen merchandise
A representative of a local retail business reported a male and female stole approximately $44 worth of merchandise and left in a van (description provided.) Police are investigating the matter.
Public intoxication
A person reported an unresponsive male subject laying on their front lawn. Police attended and located and arrested an 18-year-old male for public intoxication. The male was later released when sober.
Causing issues
A representative of a local motel reported a male guest was causing issues. Police attended and located the male subject and issued a trespass notice.
No registration no insurance
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on a report of suspected impaired driving. The operator of the vehicle was not impaired but was issued tickets for no insurance and no registration.
Impaired driving
A person reported a motorcyclist was laying on the ground by a turned over motorcycle. Police attended and noted the driver (of the motorcycle) was showing sign signs of impairment. Police administered an Alcohol Screening Device test which the subject failed. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction and the motorcycle was towed.
Theft
A representative of a local retail business reported a male subject stole products and left in a vehicle (licence plate number and description provided) and the female subject left on foot. This matter is still under investigation.
Disturbance
A person reported a disturbance in a neighbouring apartment. Police attended and determined the male subject lied about his identity and was subsequently arrested for obstruction.
Assault
A person reported a male (known to them) subject had assaulted them. Police attended and arrested the male to prevent a further breach of peace.
Disturbance
A person reported a disturbance in the area of Mount Pleasant Drive. Police attended and determined a male had threatened another male and shoved a female. The male subject was arrested for assault and uttering threats.
Unlawful encampment
A person reported an unlawful encampment in the Mirror Lake area. Camrose Community Peace Officer attended and arranged for supports for the subject involved.
Fail to produce insurance and possession of two licences
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment violations. The operator of the vehicle was issued tickets for failing to produce insurance and being in possession of two licences.
Intoxication
A person reported a male subject jumped into the box of the person reporting’s truck. Police attend and located the intoxicated male who was arrested and transported to Camrose Police Service cells and released when sober.
Assault
On June 16, 2026, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Camrose Police Service responded to a report of a firearms offence in the 4300 block of 65 Street. Initial information indicated that a male suspect had unlawfully entered a residence, assaulted an occupant and during a physical altercation, pointed a handgun at the victim. A mutual acquaintance intervened, at which point the suspect fled the residence.
Police attended the scene, contained the residence, and subsequently located and arrested the suspect without incident inside the home.
A search warrant was later executed at the residence, where investigators identified evidence suggesting a firearm had recently been present.
Continued investigation led officers to a rural property in Camrose County, where a handgun and an additional weapon were seized.
Leslie THOMPSON (30), of Camrose, Alberta, has been charged with the following offences:

· Pointing a Firearm
· Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public
· Assault
· Uttering Threats
· Break and Enter
THOMPSON has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court
Stolen bicycle
A person reported their bicycle stolen outside a downtown business. This matter is still under investigation.
Suspended driver
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by a suspended driver. The male operator of the vehicle was issued a violation ticket and the vehicle was seized.
Break and enter and commit theft from trailer
A person reported a break and enter at a business compound and their trailer was broke into with items stolen, including a battery. This incident occurred over the past 6 months.
Arrest on warrant
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by a person on warrant. The male operator was arrested on the outstanding warrant. The male was also issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction and violation tickets.
Intoxicated and causing a disturbance
A person reported a female was causing a disturbance. Police attended and dealt with the 37-year-old female subject who was intoxicated and uncooperative. The female was apprehended for Breach of Peace and housed in Camrose Police Service cells until sober.
Impaired and assault
A person reported a known male subject was driving while impaired and the subject had assaulted the person reporting. Police located and arrested the male. The male was housed in Camrose Police Service cells pending charges of assault and uttering threats.
Impaired driver
Staff of a local lounge reported a possible impaired person left operating a motor vehicle (description provided.) Police located the subject vehicle and conducted a Mandatory Alcohol Screening test on the male operator of the vehicle, which he failed. The vehicle was towed.
Missing scooter
A person reported a ride-share scooter had not been returned. The scooter was determined to be located in the spillway on the south side of Mirror Lake. This matter is still under investigation.
Fraud
Police arrested a 27-year-old female in relation to a fraud involving cashing of stolen cheques. The female was charged with Fraud, Forgery, Possession of Stolen Property and Uttering a Forged Document. She was released on an Undertaking to appear in Camrose Provincial Court.
Stolen truck and trailer
A person reported their truck and trailer had been stolen. The truck and trailer were later recovered by Wetaskiwin RCMP and had been destroyed by fire. This matter remains under investigation.
Assault
A female reported being assaulted by a “known-to-her” male subject. This matter remains under investigation.
Teens shooting
A person reported their teen children were shot with what was believed to be a pellet gun by some male teenage subjects driving by in a vehicle. Police determined who the youth suspects were and that the alleged weapon was a gel capsule gun. The youth subjects were warned of their actions the potential to cause harm.
Assault
Police were called to an assault complaint between two neighbours resulting in the victim needing to attend the Hospital. An investigation led to the arrest of a 26-year-old male, who was charged with Assault and released on an Undertaking.
Uttering threats
Police observed a vehicle being operated in a reckless manner in a local public parking lot. Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and determined the 23-year-old male operator of the vehicle was impaired and failed a Mandatory Alcohol Screening test. The male became uncooperative and subsequently threatened the police. He was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats and transported to Camrose Police Service cells. The male was also issued several violation tickets and charged with an Immediate Roadside Screening test which he failed. The vehicle was towed and the male was released from custody on an Undertaking.
Assault causing bodily harm
As the result of an ongoing assault investigation from May, 2026, three male subjects attended Camrose Police Service front counter and were subsequently arrested. The three males were charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm and released to appear in Camrose Provincial Court.
Major fire investigation
On June 28 at approximately 6 pm., Camrose Police Service and Camrose Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 4900 block of 51 Street. The area was contained and the fire was extinguished by emergency responders. Through the course of the investigation, police identified a male suspect. Police conducted patrols throughout the evening of June 28 and located the male in the downtown area of Camrose. William Honish (43 yrs old) from Camrose was subsequently arrested and charged with Break and Enter and Arson. The male subject had a Judicial Interim Release hearing and was released on a Release Order with several court imposed conditions.
Mischief, Assault Police Officer
A person reported witnessing a female subject throwing a rock through a glass door of a local business. Police located the female subject and determined she was intoxicated. During arrest the female subject spat at the officers. The female was transported to Camrose Police Service cells and was charged with Mischief, Assault a Police Officer and Breach of Conditions.
Uttering threats
A female reported a “known-to-her” male subject was being aggressive and threatening to her. Police attended and located the male subject, who became uncooperative and aggressive with police. The male subject was arrested for Uttering Threats and transported to Camrose Police Service cells.
Assault
Several telephone calls were received regarding a male being assaulted by another male subject. Police attended to investigate which led to a 60-year-old male being arrested and charged with Assault. The male was released on an Undertaking.
