On what was supposed to be a busy weekend in Flagstaff County, another event has been postponed due to rain.
Forestburg’s annual Bog in the Burg was set to go ahead Saturday and Sunday. Despite being an environment that usually works in mud, the rain in he forecast on top of an already rainy month proved to be too much of a challenge for organizers.
After much consideration, organizers have chosen to reschedule to July 25 and 26.
Additionally, a rainy Saturday forecast has led to the cancellation of Killam’s annual street fair the ‘Killam Blacktop Bonanza’ as well as the accompanying parade and Blacktop Show ‘N Shine hosted by Campbell-McLennan Chrysler.
Friday events including the pancake breakfast, BBQ, and the Killam Rodeo itself (held in Sedgewick this year) went ahead as planned, and as yet the Killam Ag Society has not made a determination on night two of the rodeo, with Slack starting at 8 a.m. Saturday and the Rodeo performance beginning at 5:30 pm.
Other events still slated to take place.
The Hardisty Trail Run will go on as planned, for Saturday, June 20 in Hardisty. “Come out and join us for a morning of endorphin-boosting movement, beautiful scenic trails, and friendly competition! Bring the kids to participate – we hope to see you there! All starts in the School Yard, be there 9 a.m!”
Killam Legion said it will not be cancelling its Saturday events, which will begin at 11 a.m. in the Legion/Agriplex parking lot by the cenotaph.
The Country Market in Hardisty on Saturday, June 20 at the Hardisty Legion from 9am – 3pm will also go ahead as planned.
