Camrose Police Report for the period from May 1 – 14, 2026
Notable Incidents
Smashed vehicle windows
A person reported their truck window was smashed and a generator and small bag stolen.
On a separate occurrence three other vehicles had windows damaged while parked at a local hotel. Another incident of a vehicle window damaged occurred while the vehicle was parked in the area of 45 Avenue and 6700 Block.
Theft
A loss prevention officer of a local retail business reported a female committing theft. The female left in a black truck. This matter is still under investigation.
Break and Enter mailboxes
Several people of a local apartment building reported two suspects (male and female) prying open mailboxes. This matter continues to be investigated.
Vandalism to private property
A person reported their driveway and garage door had paint poured on it. Matter is still under investigation.
Encampment
Complaints were received about an unlawful encampment on CN property. Police attended and identified the person responsible for the encampment and gave them 24 hours to clean up the area.
Impaired
Police observed a 52-year-old male slumped over in the front driver’s seat of a running vehicle. The male failed an alcohol screening device test and was charged. The vehicle was towed from scene.
Public intoxication
Police observed and arrested a 20-year-old female for intoxication in a public place after reports of a female causing issues.
A person reported a male sleeping in the middle of the road near Spaceship Park. Police located the 33-year-old male who was intoxicated and subsequently transported him to Camrose Police Service.
Criminal harassment
After an investigation involving criminal harassment and distribution of indecent photographs police arrested a male. The matter is still under investigation.
Theft
Staff of a local retail business detained a female for theft of several products. The female was issued a trespass notice.
Assault
Several calls were received regarding a possible assault in the area of St. Mary’s Hospital. Police attended and located two male subjects. A 30-year-old male was arrested for assault and transported to Camrose Police Service cells.
Breach of Peace
A person reported a neighbour requesting their assistance. A 69-year-old male was refusing EMS entry to assist with a female inside the residence. The male was arrested to prevent breach of peace. The female was left in the custody of EMS.
Impaired driving/liquor in reach of driver
A person reported a male banging on their vehicle while parked in a local parking lot. Police attended and located the male subject who was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction, trespass notice and violation tickets for liquor within the reach of driver.
Unlawful bank transfers
A person reported unlawful transfers of money made on their account totaling approximately $1800. The person indicated two possible suspects. This matter is still under investigation.
Theft
A representative of a local retail business reported a female subject stole merchandise from the store. Police attended, located and arrested the 38-year-old female for theft and during a search of her property recovered the stolen merchandise and a small amount of methamphetamine. The female was issued a trespass notice and the merchandise was returned to the business.
Fraud
A person reported an unknown subject opened a credit card account in his name. The card was cancelled at the time of the report and the bank is continuing to investigate.
Lost debit card
A person reported their debit card was lost and since two (unauthorized) transactions occurred. The card was cancelled through the bank and the matter remains under investigation.
Possible fraud
A person reported a possible bitcoin fraud. The person was advised to contact Alberta Securities Commission to report the fraudulent activity.
Barking dog
A person reported a neighbour’s dog was barking excessively. Police attended and spoke with a male at the subject residence, who indicated he was caring for the dogs until the next day when they would return to their owner’s residence.
Causing issues
A representative of a local motel reported a male subject was evicted from the property but was refusing to leave. Police attended and told the 52-year-old male to leave the premises. The male left and continued to return on several occasions. The male was charged initially under the Trespass Act and eventually arrested for obstruction.
Theft
A Loss Prevention Officer from a local retail business reported having several individuals under arrest for theft. Police attended and issued the 41-year-old male and 42-year-old female with a trespass notice. The merchandise was returned to the business.
Fraud
A person reported a scam involving a false phone company and the purchase of a phone and tablet.
Theft
A representative of a local retail business reported having detained a male for theft. Police attended and issued the youth subject with a trespass notice and returned the merchandise to the business.
A local retail business reported four female subjects stole approximately $740 worth of merchandise. The merchandise was recovered and contained a wallet (possibly belonging to one of the suspects.) The four subjects left in a vehicle (description provided to police.) This matter is still under investigation.
Missing backpack
A person reported their friend’s backpack (which they had in their authorized possession) had been stolen while they were caring for the friend’s child at a playground. The bag contained two sets of vehicle fobs, a wallet containing identification cards and credit cards and some baby items.
Threat with weapon
A representative of a local restaurant reported a male (known and breaching a trespass notice) outside the restaurant causing issues and threatening customers. Police attended and located and arrested the male subject for possession of a dangerous weapon, uttering threats and breaching a Common Law Peace Bond. The subject was transported and housed at Camrose Police Service cells.
Bike patrol lends a hand
Camrose Police Service bike patrol escorted riders of the St. Patrick Catholic School annual Bike Bus event.
Counterfeit bill
A local bank reported an unknown person passed a $20 counterfeit bill which was included in a deposit. Later in the week a representative of a local convenience store attended Camrose Police Service and turned in a $20 counterfeit bill that was passed by an unknown customer.
Breach of Peace
Several people reported a female and male arguing outside of a local business, and that the female assaulted the male. Police located the female and arrested her to prevent a further breach of peace. The female was charged with assault and released from custody.
Theft
A Loss Prevention Officer of a local retail business reported having detained a female subject for theft. Police attended and issued the female with a trespass notice. The merchandise was returned to the business.
Impaired driving
A representative of a local business reported a male appeared to be passed out in a running vehicle. Police attended and observed the male passed out in the driver’s seat of the running vehicle. The male provided police with a breath sample test which he failed. The male was issued with an Immediate Roadside Sanction and the vehicle was towed.
Assault police officer
A person reported loud music coming from a neighbouring apartment in the area of 53 Street and 4900 Block. Police attended and heard the music outside the building. The male subject of the complaint was identified and asked by police to turn down the music. The male became uncooperative and physical with police and resisted arrest. Police deployed a CEW (Conducted Energy Weapon) and were able to effectively arrest the male. The male was charged with Causing a Disturbance, Assault a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest
Unlawful encampment
A person reported an unlawful encampment in the area of 54 Avenue and 63 Street. Police attended and located three individuals. All occupants were provided support options but declined. They were directed to clean up the area by morning.
Warrants
Police conducted a traffic stop for a suspected impaired driver. The 19-year-old male operator of the vehicle was given an alcohol screening test and was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction and violation tickets. The vehicle was towed.
Youth assault
A complaint was received of two youths fighting in a business in the downtown area. One of the youths was known to police. After an initial investigation it was determined one of the youths was responsible for the fight, including information that he brandished a knife during the interaction. The youth was issued a trespass notice. Investigation concerning the weapon continues.
No vehicle insurance/registration
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an unregistered vehicle. The vehicle also had no insurance and the male operator did not produce a valid driver’s licence. The male was issued violation tickets and the vehicle was towed.
Damaged property
A person reported the back door of their residence appeared to be tampered with and was damaged (approximately $100-$200.) Police attended and canvased the neighbourhood for CCTV footage and possible witnesses. This matter is still under investigation.
Scam
A person reported a video chat with a person alleging to be from known not-for-profit organization indicating she won a large sum of money. When the person reporting refused to cooperate with the caller, the caller became belligerent.
Police remind all residents of he numerous scams that are circulating and advise to never give out any personal information to someone they do not know or can not verify. When in doubt Hang Up.
Outstanding warrant
Police conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 56-year-old male with outstanding warrants. The male paid the $1250 in outstanding fines and was released.
Black bear
A person reported a black bear in the Victoria Park area heading towards the golf course. Police attended and located the bear which was running on the train tracks west. Camrose and District Fish and Wildlife were notified.
