Notable Incidents
Outstanding warrant
Police arrested a 63-year-old male on an outstanding warrant.
Stolen wallet
A person reported their vehicle had been broken into and their wallet was stolen and identity was used to obtain credit cards. This matter is still under investigation.
Theft
A representative from a local retail store reported an attempted theft by a female suspect. They provided police with a description of the subject vehicle and suspect. Police later identified the 30-year-old female subject and issued trespass notices.
Fire
A person reported their garage on fire. Police, along with Camrose Fire Department, attended. The surrounding area was evacuated during the incident to prevent risk to the public. An investigation continues.
Assault
A person reported being assaulted with a taser by a male known to them. Police attended and arrested a 50-year-old male and transported him to Camrose Police Service cells. The male was charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon.
No insurance/registration
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The 78-year-old male operator of the vehicle had no insurance and registration for the vehicle. The vehicle was towed.
Illegal parking
A person reported several vehicles parked in a “no parking” zone in the area of 50 Street and 44 Avenue. Police attended and issued parking violation tickets.
Stolen property
A person reported their dirt bike (no motor) had been stolen by, who they believed to be, a female and male subject known to them. This matter is still under investigation.
Stolen vehicle
Police conducted an investigation on suspicion of a stolen vehicle purchased by an unsuspecting person through an online market. The vehicle was seized and towed. Follow-up investigation determined the registered owner of the stolen vehicle, who was subsequently notified by police.
Disturbance
Staff of a local motel requested police assistance regarding eviction of tenants causing issues. Police attended and arrested one of the subject tenants, a 40-year-old male, for previous breaches of his 24-hour curfew and possession of a weapon contrary to his release order. The male was lodged in Camrose Police Service cells. The other tenants were told to vacate the motel.
Traffic violation
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The 21-year-old female operator of the vehicle was given an Alcohol Screening test resulting in a caution. The vehicle was towed.
Theft
Staff of a local retail business reported the theft of a $300 pair of boots by a male subject, (description provided to police.) Police attended and reviewed CCTV footage. Investigation continues.
Damage to vehicles
A person reported their truck window was damaged while parked in the area of 44 Street and the 4900 Block. Police investigated, noting five additional vehicles had been damaged in the area.
On a separate incident a person reported their truck window was smashed while parked at a local hotel.
Outstanding warrants
A person reported one male and two females near a local motel, alleging the male was carrying a knife. Police attended and located the three subjects. Police determined there was no threat to public safety concerning the male subject. A female was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Causing issues
A person reported a male subject, known to them, causing issues at their residence (garage). Police attended and located the intoxicated 33-year-old male who became threatening. Once police withdrew a taser the male subject became cooperative and was subsequently arrested without issue. The male was transported and lodged at Camrose Police Service cells, then released once sober.
Theft
Staff at a local retail store reported a male subject, who was still on site, had stolen a $90 pair of goggles. Police attended and issued the 19-year-old male a trespass notice.
Outstanding warrant
A 40-year-old male subject attended Camrose Police Service and was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Stolen bike
A person reported their bike stolen in the area of a downtown church. Police attended and reviewed the church CCTV footage revealing a male subject taking the bike in question. This matter is still under investigation.
Fraud
A person reported being defrauded out of $300 by purchasing gift cards and giving them to an unknown male.
Outstanding warrants
Police arrested a 52-year-old male on an outstanding warrant.
Warrants
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment violations. The 38-year-old male operator of the vehicle was issued a ticket for driving while suspended from doing so and the vehicle was towed.
