The Flagstaff Rural Crime Watch (FRCW) Society is holding a Rural Crime Symposium open to everyone the first week of November.
Loosely based on a similar event the organization held a number of years ago, the event features four guest speakers.
These include Alberta Fish and Wildlife Forensic Services, the Crown Prosecutor, an RCMP Livestock Investigator, and the RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.
The event includes a free supper for up to the first 150 people registered. There is no charge to attend.
The symposium is an event for community members, law enforcement, and specialists.
Flagstaff Rural Crime Watch members are the eyes and ears of the community, and the executive felt that the time might be right for an update on what’s happening in the community, around rural crime in general, and what’s happening in the court system.
Each presenter will have a short Q & A session following their presentation.
The evening will take place in Killam, at the Community Hall, on Thursday, Nov. 5, with dinner starting at 5:30.
FRCW says the early dinner is to accommodate four different speakers without the night going too late.
Those interested in attending need to act fast. Send registration confirmation and details to the web form https://shorturl.at/b9n9y or email info to fcrimesymp@gmail.com with the names and number of people coming. Registration has been extended beyond October 22, but the group still needs time to update catering numbers prior to the event, so promptness is appreciated.
