The federal census started on Monday, May 4 with hand delivered letters going out to rural households around the region throughout the week.
According to census workers, enumerators have until end of day today—Monday, May 11—to have letters out to every household ,and census day is May 12.
In cases where people are not home, the letters are often left in a plastic bag hanging on a door handle at the front of the home.
