2024 Movie in the Park marks 15th year for fundraising event

For 15 years, Parents for Fun in Flagstaff have been holding a late-summer Movie in the Park event, which is not only their biggest fundraiser of the season, but also the highlight of summer for many Flagstaff families.

This year’s event was held in Killam; over the past 15 years it has moved all around the county.

The event features paid and free events, along with a free movie, which this year was held in the ampitheatre area of Heritage Park.

The rest of the fair stretched the length of the park along the walking path and featured everything from a petting zoo to a giant bubble station, with inflatable rides, balloon animals and face painting, and even a visit from some famous characters, Mario and a member of the Paw Patrol.

Parents for Fun in Flagstaff, who operate the Family Resource Centre in Killam, use this event for their annual fundraiser, and spokesperson for the group Jessica Docksteader, who is the coordinator at the Family Resource Centre, says this year’s event raised $15,000.
