What better way to celebrate Agriculture Day, Feb. 13, than with a photo contest? That’s what Flagstaff County thought this year, and have announced the contest will begin immediately.

With the theme ‘Agriculture in Flagstaff County,’ the category is broad and open to anything ag-related, says Flagstaff County Economic Development Coordinator Shaina Dunn. Submissions will be accepted until noon on Monday, Feb. 12.

Photos received will be posted to the County’s 2024 #CdnAgDay photo album on its Facebook page throughout the contest. During the contest period, viewers will be able to vote on the photos they like the best. The photos with the most votes will be announced on Canada’s Agriculture Day, and will also receive an ‘agricultural-related gift basket,’ Dunn adds.

Entrants must be age 13 and up, and there’s a maximum of two photos per person. The person submitting the photo must be the person who took the photo, and it must have been taken within Flagstaff County.
Dunn says, “Ideally the photos should be of the highest quality,” although she notes that many photos are taken through cell phones. “Ideally we are just looking for quality good enough for the Facebook album.”

Flagstaff County has some amazing amateur and professional photographers, and the contest is sure to attract a great selection featuring agriculture in the region. For details on how to enter, see the poster included in the Flagstaff County ad this week.
