Camrose Police charge man for assaulting officer

Camrose Police Report for the period from March 1 – 7, 2026

Police assisted EMS on three separate occasions with medical emergencies.

Police attended four collisions. No reported injuries.

Notable incidents

Stolen vehicle

A person reported their vehicle was stolen from their residence (while they were out of country.) This matter is still under investigation.

Outstanding warrants

Police conducted a traffic stop on a 38-year-old male known to have outstanding warrants. The male was arrested for $600 worth of fines.

Arrest without incident

A person reported an unwanted known male subject was in their residence and was not leaving. Police attended the residence, the reporting person had left the residence. Police contained the area, as the male subject had a past of violence and instability towards the police. The 40-year-old male subject was arrested without incident and held in custody.

Public intoxication

A person requested police assistance with removing a known female subject from their residence. Police attended and arrested the female subject for public intoxication. During incarceration the 34-year-old female subject became combative with police and needed to be restrained. The female was charged with obstruction and two counts of assault on a police officer.

Causing issues

A representative from a local retail business reported several youth causing issues. Police attended and located the youth, served them with trespass notices and contacted parents.

Damage to property and assault

A person reported a (know-to-them) 41-year-old male causing damage to their personal property and assaulting another male. The male was arrested by police and later released when sober with an indefinite trespass notice to the home

Expired registration

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. The driver of the vehicle was unaware the vehicle was unregistered. The registered owner was contacted and will be issued violation tickets for no insurance and no registration.

Trespass

Police observed a known male subject contravening a trespass order. When police approached the male, he became confrontational. Police were able to calm the male and subsequently arrested him for obstruction and trespassing.

Equipment violation

Police conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. The operator of the vehicle was charged with no registration, misuse of licence plate and not carrying a bill of sale.

Breach of Release Order

Police observed a passenger in a motor vehicle that had a 24-hour curfew. The vehicle was stopped and the 29-year-old male was arrested and charged with two counts of breaching his court order.

Trespass

While on patrol police observed a male in a business contrary to his Trespass Notice. The 33-year-old male was approached and became aggressive towards police the male was arrested and charged with obstruction and trespassing.

Failed Field Sobriety Test

Police conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle equipment violation and observed  methamphetamine and a crack pipe with residue in the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were arrested. The 43-year-old driver of the vehicle failed a drug test and was charged accordingly. Tickets were also issued for no registration, no insurance and misuse of licence plates.

Impaired driver

Police received several reports regarding a possible impaired driver. Police located the subject vehicle, identified the operator of the vehicle and conducted tests for impaired driving. The 74-year-old male driver was charged with dangerous driving and other driving offences.

Impaired driving

Police conducted a traffic stop for equipment violations and observed the female operating the vehicle to be under the influence of alcohol. The 18-year-old female failed the roadside screening test and was charged with impaired driving.

Theft

A person reported theft of property valued at approximately $200.

Assault police officer

A person requested police assistance with a (known-to-them) 60-year-old male subject, who was drunk and being belligerent. Police attended and the male became uncooperative so was arrested Once in the police vehicle the male kicked the police vehicle and a police officer. The male was charged with assaulting a police officer.

Obstruction

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle and back seat passenger both lied about their identity. Police positively identified both individuals. The 19-year-old male passenger was arrested on a warrant and the 43-year-old female driver was charged with obstruction.
