Camrose Police Report for the period from February 15 – 21, 2026
Police attended several collisions, no reports of injury, and dealt with two separate incidents of operator of motor vehicle having no insurance and no vehicle registration.
Notable incidents
Fraud
A person reported their bank account was compromised resulting in the loss of nearly $3,000. The person reporting suspected an online fraud or hacking of their online banking information. A 57-year-ld male was arrested after he deposited a fraudulent cheque into his bank account. He was charged with Fraud Under $5,000 and released to appear in court.
Police remind residents to be very diligent about releasing any personal information online or over the telephone and never release information to unknown or unverified sources. Report any suspected fraud or scam activity to the police and/or online on the Government of Canada Report Cybercrime and Fraud website.
Assault
A person called 911 to report being assaulted by a known male. Police attended the area of the call and located a female victim and male suspect. The male suspect was arrested and charged with assault. The male also had a warrant for his arrest for outstanding fines.
Assault
A 911 caller reported being assaulted with a knife, by a youth known to the victim. Police attended and spoke with the caller who identified the suspect. Police located and arrested the youth who was charged with assault with a weapon.
Causing a disturbance
An employee of a local restaurant reported a male subject causing issues and refusing to leave the premises. Police attended and spoke to the male subject, who appeared agitated, but eventually left the premises.
Internal theft
The owner of a local restaurant reported an ex-employee had stolen $8,000 from the business. This matter is still under investigation.
Resist arrest/assault police officer
A person reported a possible fight occurring between a female and male at a neighboring residence. Police attended and located the male subject, determined to be intoxicated. The female had left prior to police arrival. The 50-year-old male subject was arrested for breaching alcohol conditions, during arrest he became uncooperative, resisting arrest. The male was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and uttering threats.
Impaired driver
Police conducted a traffic stop for equipment violations and noted the operator of the vehicle to be under the influence of alcohol. The operator failed the original roadside screening device test and was transported to Camrose Police Service where he provided samples of 290mg % and 270mg%. The 28-year-old male was charged and released on provincial driving sanctions.
