The Battle River School Division each year recognizes groups from around the region who make a significant contribution or achievement to the schools and students in the region.

BRSD Vice Chair Karen Belich says, “Schools, and our school division, are lucky enough to receive support from so very many generous people and organizations.

“Especially in a more rural school division, such as ours, it seems that whenever a school is in need someone in the community steps up to help.

“We are very fortunate and we feel it is important to say ‘thank you’ to those who have made outstanding contributions.”

Belich says, “Flagstaff FCS has been a significant partner in providing co-curricular opportunities and activities to all of the students in all of the schools in Flagstaff County.

“Over a long period of time, they’ve made it possible for students in Flagstaff County to attend quality presentations and performances that provide information and ideas on everything from positive choices to resilience and mental health awareness.”

Three examples this year alone included Rob Nash, Sean McCann, and a group called Motivational Magic, presentations that were made to students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

“Perry and Lynne, representing Flagstaff FCS today, please know how much we appreciate all the ways in which you work to ensure that the students, and the communities, of Flagstaff County are supported to remain strong, vibrant, and healthy.”
