Wheat Kings wrap-up honours top players and retirees

Retiring Killam Wheat Kings players Clay Lang, Bailey Antos, and Ryan Guhle.

“We’re a community team – not a lot of people realize that,” said Killam Jr. B Wheat Kings Head Coach Bob Charchun on Saturday, April 13, in Killam during the team’s wind-up and awards evening.

“We have a fantastic group of polite, respectful young men who are a testament to their parents, families, and themselves.”

Charchun says he respects the dedication of Jr. B players, who juggle school or work with practice and games, and thanked the players for those blocks of their undivided attention they gave to the team; to the game.

“It’s tough to say goodbye to some of our group, our three players who have reached 21,” Charchun said, referring to Clay Lang, Bailey Antos, and Ryan Guhle.

Charchun ended with, “I know this organization wants a championship, no one more than our team. We left it out there, we played our hardest.”
