Hardisty Invitational attracts hundreds of runners
With fall comes the changing of the leaves, the inevitable rain or snow, and the Hardisty Invitational X-Country, with schools from all over east central Alberta taking part.
Taking place at the same time was the Battle River Regional cross-country and Flagstaff County cross county.
Results from this year’s Hardisty Invitational are as follows: Grade 9 girls-1,500 m: first Faith Taylor, second Jenessa Lehman, both from Camrose Composite, with Madi Hoyme from Our Lady of Mount Pleasant coming third. The Flagstaff County results showed Larissa Mohler from Daysland first, Semira Hillman from Forestburg second, and Bethlyn Popowich from CHSPS third.
Hardisty’s team came in second, with runners Ella Guterson-Love, Avery Love, Kassidy McMahon, Rozene Sabeti-Seidel, and Kaylea Johannesson. Daysland’s runners finished third overall, with Mckenzie Hefferan, Kaylee Nykolaishyn, and Larissa Mohler.
Central High Sedgewick Public School’s runners, Sam Liboiron and Bethlyn Popowich finished fourth, and Killam’s team of Abby Krys and Hannah Ferguson finished in fifth.
For the boys’ county results, Team Forestburg, with Billy McDonald, Carter Hillman, Ty Forster, and Dominic Hebert finished first overall. Hardisty followed in second place, with Kolton DeBord, Bodi Goodrich, Caden Nicolajsen, and Jolon Sabeti-Seidel. Central High Sedgewick Public School’s team came in third, with runners Duncan Ferrier, Terrance Johnson, and Keithen Tuftin. Killam’s team of Kallum Grove, Adam Child, and Edenn Waldner came in fourth place, and Daysland’s Dane Davis and Shane Guhle finished fifth.
