Significant damage to Strome Fire Hall after lightning strike

A lightning strike on the Strome Fire Hall started a fire on Friday, July 13, around 8 p.m.

Firefighters were unable to enter the building, says Flagstaff Regional Emergency Services Co-ordinator Kim Cannady, “because all our protective gear was inside.”

Killam and Daysland Fire Departments responded to the call and extinguished the flames.
