Killam latest Flagstaff municipality to release video with BRAED
The Town of Killam debuted a video presentation at a community Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Mayor Bud James says the video was produced via a Battle River Alliance for Economic Development (BRAED) program which made funds available to several communities in east central Alberta, including the communities of Sedgewick, Lougheed, and Hardisty who jointly produced a video released earlier this fall.
“Our immediate goal is resident attraction,” said James.
The video was produced over this past summer, he says, showcasing everything that Killam has to offer, with an informative narrative and appearances from a few residents. James made special thank yous to Jenine Ruzicka, Chris Raab, and Aaron Lassu for their contributions to the production during Saturday’s debut.
“This video project nicely complements Killam’s marketing strategy, adopted by Council last spring,” he says. “The strategy’s main theme is resident attraction, and this video is one of a few great tools we can use to accomplish our objectives.”
James says the video will be available on the town website and social media, and encourages residents to share the video within their circles of influence. “Your use of this and other marketing tools to promote Killam will pay big dividends,” he said.
“The citizens of Killam are our great ambassadors,” he said, “why not give them the tools to promote our community? We hope to grow Killam one family at a time.”
James said that the video will also be loaded on USB storage sticks bearing the town logo, and distributed to anyone requesting information about the town.
Hardisty, Lougheed, and Sedgewick also participated in the BRAED program, producing a joint video highlighting the eastern side of Flagstaff county, their video highlights all three communities, and was released earlier this fall.
