Campaigning essential to the election process

Campaigning is essential to any election and with the upcoming Alberta Municipal elections many candidates will vie for your vote.

First and foremost, it is imperative for the candidate to declare their intention to run.

The sooner a candidate declares his intention to run, the better the race for office will be as it gives those who are waiting on the sidelines or still thinking about it a push to participate.

Flagstaff Councillor Wade Lindseth says, “I feel there is an apprehension about running against an existing candidate, but I believe if you have a desire to serve the Flagstaff region, even if there is an incumbent running, don’t be discouraged – don’t worry about the other guy. 

“If there is an election let it be an election! 

“Get your name on the ballot and let the chips fall where they may, let the people decide who they want to represent them.”
