Sedgewick Ag Society presents silent auction proceeds to Evan Wallace

During Sedgewick’s 2012 Canada Day Sports Day celebration, a live and silent auction organized by the Sedgewick Ag Society and Friends of Evan was held.


The purpose of the auction was to raise funds in Evan Wallace’s honour for the Stollery Hospital, and organizers were amazed when they reached a total of $33,000.
Evan Wallace, from Sedgewick, was diagnosed with a very rare form of acute myeloid leukemia on Oct. 31 of last year, she was three-years-old at the time.
Local concern for Evan and the Wallace family prompted volunteers to donate funds at various events for Evan, to sign up to donate blood, and register for bone marrow matches, and more.
Organizers of the silent auction said that the response was amazing, and that they are thankful for the bidders, donations, and volunteers who put the time in.
