Killam celebrates 41st annual Indoor Rodeo

Killam celebrated the 41st anniversary of the Indoor Rodeo the weekend of July 15 and 16.

Killam residents and visitors enjoyed the rodeo celebrations, which started Friday evening with the Chili Cookoff, which had 12 teams competing from local businesses, with the Town of Killam staff winning the #1 spot back. Entrees ranged from sweet to burn-off-your-tongue, but everyone who participated and attended had a great time. After the evening’s rodeo performance, a great fireworks show was held at dusk at the ball diamonds.

Saturday dawned with a pancake breakfast, followed by the traditional parade.

After the parade, families enjoyed the Green Grass Bonanza with a lumberjack show, mechanical bull, and three bouncy houses, along with children’s entertainers and PDA dance performances.

The beef supper closed the afternoon’s activities, followed by Saturday’s rodeo performances, where it was Tough enough to wear Pink night for the crowd, cowboys, and workers.

After the rodeo followed Dance in the Dirt, with entertainment by Ain’t no Cowboys.
