St. Patrick’s Day comes early to Valley Ski Hill

    The Hardisty Ski Hill Club partnered with Flagstaff County Recreation to host the annual St. Patrick’s Hoopla Day at the Valley Ski Hill on Sunday, Mar. 11.

    Organizers Sandra Norman of Stettler, along with Tarrah Knodel and Jeanette Feddema of Forestburg, were very pleased with the turnout. There were 74 kids that turned out to ski!

    A number of events were planned for the children to enjoy.

    There was ski waxing and maintenance, free-style with jumps and bumps, an obstacle course, games with the ski patrol, a dual slalom course, a groomer tour, a clock your top speed, and of course, a wiener roast to enjoy.

    They even had a special rate on snowboards for the Hoopla Special, at $2 to rent a board.

   The weather was perfect for a ride down the hill, and it looked like everyone was enjoying the event.
