Local couples create Halloween haunted house

On Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26 and 27, Mark and Becky Erickson, along with Roxanne and Greg Thengs, and Sherry Tkaczyk created a haunted house out at the old Merna School, and invited everyone to come, asking people to bring an item for the Flagstaff Food Bank if they decided to come out and get scared.

The family spent over a month getting this location ready for Hallowe’en, and co-organizer Becky Erickson said it cost very little, just time and effort.

More than 250 guests came out over the two days, and Erickson says about four little visitors were too scared to come into the house, but those whose children were overly scared agreed that everyone made a huge effort to ‘un’ scare them and show them it was all in good fun.

The building was decorated to the hilt, with creepy crawlers, spiders, webbing, with candles and skulls everywhere.
