Newest RCMP member a small town boy ‘through and through’
Constable Travis Norton is the newest member of the Killam Detachment of the RCMP, and started work on Friday, Aug. 12.
Norton is an Alberta native, he comes from Rosemary, a small village located in the Brooks area.
Growing up, Norton says that the father of one his friends was an RCMP member, and so he participated in a number of ride-alongs.
“He actually encouraged me in this career,” he says, “I started this process very young, at age 19, and he showed confidence in my ability to succeed.”
