Killam/Forestburg RCMP Detachment NCO Sgt. Greg Gerbrandt provided information to all the municipalities within the county recently about crime statistics within their region, which encompasses an area from Daysland to Amisk, and south from Heisler to Alliance.

Updates in RCMP shooting case

On Feb. 14, RCMP located the suspect vehicle in the recent shootings of two Killam detachment RCMP officers, hidden among various vehicles and equipment on private rural property southeast of Lougheed.
According to RCMP, the Explosive Disposal Unit was used to make sure it was safe to approach and examine the vehicle.

Residents of Flagstaff County were shocked and stunned Tuesday afternoon when news broke of two RCMP officers being shot started trickling in.
