Kevin Sorenson was re-elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Battle River-Crowfoot in Monday’s federal election. He won the riding by a sizeable margin, picking up 47,650 votes, good for 81 per cent. This was just a small amount behind his personal best in 2011.

Killam RCMP Detachment members have welcomed a new corporal this month, as Corporal James Malone arrived. Malone replaces Cpl. Brent Robinson, who has moved to Rocky Mountain House. Malone comes to Killam from a detachment in Nunavut that was 500 km north of the Arctic Circle.
Flagstaff County Council has approved a three-year conditional grant to FFCS for the Nights Alive youth program budget, which this year includes the rental of the FFCS basement.
The Killam Wheat Kings hosted the Vermilion Tigers on Friday, Dec. 13. Killam came up against Vermilion’s hot goalie as he robbed the Killam shooters time and time again. Despite outshooting the Tigers, the Wheat Kings lost 2-1.
