Flagstaff County Council heard a presentation from municipal clerk Gwenda Poyser during their May 11 meeting regarding the new Utilities Rate By-law for hamlets.
The Forestburg grad class of 2016 celebrated their accomplishments on Friday, May 13. The theme of the evening was “We Can Only Go Up From Here.”
The Friends of the Battle River Railway were very pleased to welcome 180 people to the Galahad Agriplex on Saturday, April 9 for an excellent evening. The “Friends” organized this night as a fundraiser with the theme, “A little heat goes a long way!”
Killam RCMP were called to a possible domestic dispute near Daysland on Feb. 20.
As of Jan. 1, both Strome and Galahad became hamlets. Cabinet approved the dissolution of both villages on Nov. 17 of 2015, after public votes in both villages were overwhelmingly in favour of becoming hamlets.
The Health Quality Council of Alberta released the findings of their Long-Term Care Family Experience Survey last week, and Galahad Care Centre rated in the top five in the province, with an overall satisfaction rating of 9.5 out of 10.
The public vote on the future viability of Galahad was held on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
