From the Archives: The Burns Banquet at Lougheed
(The Sentinel – February 4, 1909) – On the night of January 26, the citizens of Lougheed and the neighbouring district celebrated the 150th anniversary of Robert Burns in right good Scottish style, a banquet being given in memory of the immortal bard.
Last elevator goes down in Alliance
As another prairie sentinel came down in Alliance, many watched in sadness. The elevator was torn down last week between Tuesday and Thursday, with a minimum of fuss, just a lot of debris to clean up.

The Daysland Northstars wrapped up their regular season with a pair of weekend games at home. Daysland beat Big Valley on Friday, 5-2, and Saturday they ran the table on the Rocky Rams with a 9-2 win.

Feed mill in Killam reaches half-century mark in 2015; still going strong

When Brent and Leanne Gaume celebrated their 10th anniversary of owning and operating the feed mill in Killam as Killam Feed and Farm, they didn’t realize that the feed mill itself opened 50 years ago, on Nov. 27, 1965.
