In the spring of 2012, Flagstaff County councillors voted to approve the startup of a new scholarship and pursuit of excellence program, to encourage post-secondary training with assistance with the costs associated with attending post-secondary institutions. Council approved $37,000 spending in the scholarship program, with another $18,000 in a Pursuit of Excellence program.
