Daysland Canada Day turning into a fun, family tradition

Daysland started their Canada Day celebration off with a bright and colourful bike parade, with decorated bikes and riders making a couple of laps around the park before choosing between the bouncy houses, tattoos, or slip and slide.

Live music and sunny skies made for a relaxed family Canada Day celebration.

Before long, a massive Canada Day cake and hundreds of cupcakes came out, and soon disappeared.

Sgt. Lee Brachmann, Mayor Gail Watt, and 100-year-old birthday girl Elodie Trottier cut the cake, and distributed it to the waiting crowd.

The hardest-working group of the day appeared to be the Fire Department members, who hosted a giant breakfast at the Fire Hall early in the day, then rushed to the park to set up the slip and slide, and fire up the barbeque for hot dogs and hamburgers.
