Friends of Battle River Rail hold unique and successful Gala Fundraiser
The Friends of the Battle River Rail held a fundraising evening at the Alliance Community Hall on Saturday, Apr. 13 where Master of Ceremonies, Ken Eshpeter, welcomed everyone in attendance.
“Considering the weather it is a great turnout. Efforts tonight are to raise funds for a passenger car,” said Eshpeter.
“Just imagine tonight that you are dining in a passenger car and travelling on continuous welded steel. Many of our BBR members have train hats on tonight to help you visualize that!”
Alliance Mayor Muriel Fankhanel also thanked everyone for coming out for this memorable evening. “Alliance is the village with the artistic touch,” said Fankhanel.
“This village is a strong supporter of the BRR. We even have a loaded set of grain cars plus oil cars on the tracks tonight for your entertainment.”
