RCMP Report, Vandals damage museum vehicles
According to Killam/ Forestburg RCMP Detachment NCO-IC Sgt. Greg Gerbrandt four assault incidents have been responded to so far in Flagstaff County in September 2012, with charges laid in three of the four, with two in Hardisty and one in Sedgewick, and the fourth still under investigation, in Forestburg.
During the evening of Sept. 18, or early morning hours of Sept. 19, there were four reported break-ins in Hardisty, at Allan’s Bistro, Crocus Hill Distributors, Access Auto, and Hair Trends Salon. Sgt. Gerbrandt said that a person or persons gained entrance to each business, and that the break-ins are currently under investigation.
Killam RCMP have responded to eight false alarms so far this month.
Police are investigating a case of mischief to cultural property in Strome, where antique cars in the Sodbuster Museum display had rocks thrown through the windshields.
“This is a mindless act. People who do things like this are ruining our towns, or certainly contributing to their demise,” said Gerbrandt.
“It’s such a shame, some people are trying to build up our towns and villages, acts like this are counterproductive to keeping our communities alive.”
This case is currently under investigation. Anyone who has any information about this is encouraged to call the Killam detachment at (780) 385-3509 or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leave a tip online at www.tipsoft.com.
