Wetaskiwin RCMP investigate armed robbery

On July 15, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP was dispatched to an armed robbery in the Town of Millet. Three friends were leaving the pickleball court when one noticed someone in his truck.

The victim asked what the person was doing and tried to stop this person from stealing his truck. The suspect pulled a knife and two others jumped out of a near by truck. Two suspects were holding knives and were threating the victims. One of the suspects lifted his coat and displayed that he had a gun.

The three victims retreated to the pickleball court AND THE SUSPECTS FLED With the victim’s truck.

RCMP are looking for the victim’s vehicle, a White 2000 Dodge Ram with silver rims.

The suspects are described as males in their early 20’s, wearing all dark clothing.  One had dark hair and was wearing a “shaggy” coat. The second male was wearing baggy denim jeans and a long trench coat that went past his waist. He was in possession of the firearm. The third male was described as having medium length dark hair and had a knife in his hand.

The suspects fled westbound with the victim’s truck and the other vehicle involved was an early 2000’s Chevrolet 2500 truck. It was described as grey and having straight pipes and was a little rusty.

The Wetaskiwin RCMP is seeking assistance from the citizens of Millet, to help identify the suspects responsible.  RCMP are asking to check for video footage or photos of the suspects and vehicle.
