Part-Time Sales Assistant
Flexible Position – Approx. 21-28 Hours Per Week
The Community Press is seeking a PART-TIME EMPLOYEE to work at our Killam, Alberta location. This will be a flexible position based on candidate’s availability. Option of 3 days per week (9am – 4pm – preferably Wednesday, Thursday & Friday), or 4 days per week (9am – 4 pm – preferably Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) based on availability/preference.
Key objectives: to place sales calls by telephone to – and perform occasional in-person visits with – regular and new customers, while handling light office duties, incoming customer service interactions, and generally helping others in the office as needed. This employee will report directly to the Production/Sales Manager. Ability to help with newspaper distribution on Wednesdays also preferred. That would include being able to stand for a few hours to label and stuff newspapers, while also being able to lift and bind bundles. There is an opportunity for the right candidate to grow by learning other skills related to the business, but sales will be the primary objective upon hire.
Qualifications:
Successful candidate MUST BE OUTGOING and a people person and know that your job, first and foremost, is to interact positively with customers. If you are uncomfortable making a phone call, this job is not for you. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Past customer service experience preferred. No previous newspaper-specific experience necessary. Must be able to familiarize with products and memorize price lists within a reasonable time frame.
