Flagstaff Lodge plants unique indoor garden

Flagstaff Lodge residents got an early start on their vegetable garden on Friday, when Barb Kunst visited with her new Tower Garden.

The first order of business was planting some of the garden from seeds, where residents chose melons, lettuce, and spinach, among others, and the second was to remove the dirt from the plants Kunst had brought, washing them in water to expose the root system.

Residents planted strawberries, peas, rosemary, and two tomato plants as well.

The Tower Garden is a hydroponic and aerodronic growing system that utilizes only water and special nutrients to grow virtually anything, year round.
