Camrose police charge suspect after assault on restaurant employee

Camrose Police Report for the period from March 8 – 14, 2026

Police attended four collisions. One with minor injuries reported.

Police assisted EMS with two medical emergencies.

Notable Incidents

Damage to vehicle

A person reported a rock had been thrown through the driver’s-side window of their vehicle while parked at 48 Street and 4900 Block.

Assault

Police responded to a report of a intoxicated,male subject who had assaulted the caller. The caller left the residence for their safety. Police attended and determined through a witness on scene that the subject had left the residence. The subject was observed by police in his vehicle speeding. The subject returned to the residence where he was arrested without incident. The 34-year-old male was charged with dangerous driving, unlawful confinement and assault.

Panhandling

Police responded to a complaint of a 26-year-old female subject panhandling outside a local retail business. Police attended and spoke with the subject and warned her about her behaviour. She agreed to leave the area.

Dog bite

A person reported being bitten (causing injury) by a dog in the area of 55 Street and 5300 Block. Police attended and spoke with the owner of the dog advising them to quarantine the dog while investigation ensues.

Camrose Community Peace Officer conducted a follow-up investigation on the dog bite incident. A statement was obtained and the matter is still under investigation.

Vandalism

A person reported vandalism at a local recreation centre. Police attended and reviewed CCTV footage which showed a male youth jumping on tables. Matter is still under investigation.

Theft

A representative of a local retail business reported a theft by a female and three male subjects. The person reporting indicated the subjects left in a white truck. A member of the RCMP, who was on scene at the time of the incident, attempted a stop on the subject vehicle, which fled westbound on Highway 13. Matter is still under investigation.

Curfew violation

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. Two male subjects (44 and 47 years of age) were noted to be bound by an undertaking and curfew conditions. Both subjects were arrested.  Search of the vehicle, incident to arrest, revealed a small quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Theft

A representative of a local retail business reported the possible theft of merchandise. The representative provided police with a description of the vehicle and licence plate number. Matter is still under investigation.

Unregistered vehicle

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration. The operator of the vehicle was charged with no insurance and no registration. The vehicle was towed.

Assault

A 9-1-1 call reported an assault on an employee of a local restaurant by an unknown male subject. Police attended and noted the victim was in need of medical attention. EMS attended and transported the victim to St. Mary’s Hospital. Police reviewed CCTV footage and observed the assault. Patrols later located the 27-year-old male suspect who was arrested for assault and uttering threats and was transported to Camrose Police Service cells.

Outstanding warrants

Police conducted a traffic stop on a known 61-year-old male subject with warrants for $1,500 outstanding fines.

Impaired driving

Police conducted a traffic stop for a possible impaired driving. The 64-year-old male driver failed a Mandatory Alcohol Screening test, was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction.

Arrest on warrant

Police conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. The 43-year-old male passenger was arrested on a warrant for $1,200 outstanding fines.
