Red Deer RCMP make arrest for firearm and drugs

On Sept. 21, 2024, at approximately 5:25 p.m., Red Deer RCMP were called to assist Red Deer Community Peace Officers as they had an individual who had fled a traffic stop from them. The suspect left behind a satchel and a backpack. A firearm was located inside of the satchel, while approximately 634 grams of Fentanyl and other items consistent with drug trafficking were located inside of the backpack.

As a result of their investigation Red Deer RCMP have arrested Corim Conway, a 32-year-old resident of Red Deer; he has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Careless use/storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of loaded firearm
  • Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm
  • Possession of firearm with altered serial number
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to an order x7
  • Failure to comply with release order x 4
  • Driving while prohibited

Corim Conway was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. His court appearance was on Oct. 3, 2024 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
