Cold Lake RCMP lay drug trafficking charges
On June 29th, 2024, the Cold Lake RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle parked on the shoulder on the wrong side of Highway 659 with pedestrians walking away down a near by range road.
While on scene with the vehicle it was discovered that the vehicle was stolen out of Bonnyville, Alta.. Cold Lake RCMP officers did a search of the area and located the individuals matching the description of the occupants of the stolen vehicle.
Upon further investigation 108.66 grams of Methamphetamine and 350 dollars in cash was located on one of the individuals.
Logan Winegarden (26), a resident of Cold Lake, was charged with the following:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
- Operate motor vehicle while prohibited;
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking.
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Winegarden was released on a release order and will be appearing in Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on July 24, 2024.
