Ponoka RCMP investigate armed robbery
On June 15, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Ponoka RCMP responded to an Armed Robbery at the Liquor HQ in Ponoka. Investigation has determined that one male suspect entered the store armed with a machete and began smashing the front counter area.
He then went and stole several bottles of liquor from the shelves. A second suspect guarded the exit armed with a large knife. Both suspects fled the store with several bottles of unpaid liquor. There were no injuries reported.
Ponoka RCMP have obtained surveillance photos of both suspects and are asking the public for assistance in identifying them.
Suspect 1 is described as:
- Male;
- Medium complexion;
- approx. 5 feet 9 inches in height;
- Chubby face;
- Wearing a black Nike Air Jordan jacket, blue jeans, and white sneakers; carrying a large black bladed, hook tipped machete.
Suspect 2 is described as
- Male;
- approx. 5 feet 5 inches in height;
- very thin;
- Wearing a green hoodie, black jacket, blue jeans, and black sneakers with white soles.
