Wainwright RCMP lay charges after Break and Enter
On June 8, 2024, Wainwright RCMP responded to a break and enter to the Canadian Tire in Wainwright. Two suspects were still within the store at the time of the complaint and were confronted by the owner. One fled the scene while the other got into an altercation with the owner. Police officers arrived on scene, arrested the suspect and, after further investigation, found and arrested the second suspect.
As a result of the investigation, the following two suspects were arrested:
Shane Peter Comerford (44), a resident of Wainwright, was charged with:

- Robbery;
- Break and enter;
- Disguised with intent to commit offence;
- Obstruct peace officer; and
- Theft under $5000.
Justin Kurtis Repp (28), a resident of Lloydminster, SK, was charged with 8 offences including:
- Robbery;
- Break and enter;
- Assault with a weapon;
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000; and
- Possession of break-in instruments.
Comerford and Repp were brought before a Justice of the Peace. Comerford was released on conditions while Repp was remanded into custody. They are to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wainwright on June 20, 2024.
