Two vehicle collision on Highway 13 near Sedgewick claims the life of man — Update

Revised:  Killam RCMP released an updated notice on the collision at 6:16 p.m. as follows:

Traffic is no longer being re-routed on Highway 13. 

Killam RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision at approximately 12:00 p.m., involving a semi-tractor and a car on Highway 13 and Range Road 125.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a car was taking a curve on Highway 13 and head on collision occurred with the semi-tractor.

Tragically, the 74-year-old male driver of the car from Sedgewick was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi-tractor suffered minor injuries and was released on scene.

Killam RCMP and a RCMP Collision Analyst remained on scene for several hours and the investigation continues.

No charges will be laid and further updates are not anticipated. The name of the deceased will not be released.

Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased at this time.

Traffic Advisory Notice from Kim Cannady – Flagstaff County Regional Emergency Services Coordinator: There will be delays and detours for most of the morning today on Highway 13 between Range Road 124 and Range Road 130 near Sedgewick, while Emergency Crews unload and recover the semi-tractor involved in yesterday’s collision.
