ICYMI: Local RCMP investigating multiple break-ins
Between Oct. 14 and 23, RCMP were called to 14 false alarms within their detachment areas, and seven motor vehicle collisions were reported to RCMP.
On Oct. 20, a male called RCMP to report that the coin box at the Daysland Car Wash was broken into.
It looks as though a grinder was used to cut open the box and all coins were stolen. RCMP have no suspects at this time.
He said that he parked his vehicle in the parking lot of the Hardisty Arena while he was at work.
When he returned to his vehicle around 9 p.m. on Oct. 17, he noticed that his vehicle had been opened and items were taken from his vehicle. Unknown suspects at this time.
On Oct. 17, RCMP received a call from a female who resides in Heisler.
She stated that her trailer, which was parked at the back of her residence, was broken into.
She had left the home on Oct. 14 and returned on Oct. 17, and noticed the lock had been cut and was laying in the snow.
RCMP attended the scene where the female checked inside the trailer and noted that nothing had been stolen. Neighbourhood inquiries were completed. RCMP have no suspects at this time.
On Oct. 17, a resident of Forestburg contacted RCMP to report that someone had driven onto his property, checking out the buildings and gas tanks.
The hoses to the gas tanks were also lying in the snow. Footprints in the snow indicated that the culprit had checked the doors of the buildings, too, and gone inside.
The owner of the property stated that nothing had been stolen.
The owner of the residence stated that they had come home from hunting the night before, taken the firearms out of his vehicle and placed them by the wall. The shed door was unlocked at the time.
The two firearms are described as a Remington 870 and a Winchester Wingman.
