Edmonton Eskimos quarterback James Franklin visited Killam on Monday, Sept. 28 at the Living Room.

The Living Room is hosting “Grid Iron Good News” through the NFL season, showing Monday Night Football on the big screen, and will be featuring special guests from the Eskimos current roster and alumni every month, to speak during half-time.

Franklin was accompanied by Esks alumni Gary Lefebvre, who is scheduled to be the guest speaker on Nov. 30. Lefebvre played nine seasons with the Eskimos, and two seasons with Montreal.

The program is the brain child of Ben Kellert, new pastor at the Killam Pentecostal Church.

“I just thought, what can we do to provide guys in the community with the opportunity to build relationships,” Kellert says. “I found out there was lots of interest in football in our community, and also in NFL football, so this seemed like a great idea.”
