Security footage released from Tofield drug store Break-in
Video surveillance footage has been released from Monday morning’s break and enter of the Guardian Drugs store in Tofield, which saw thieves smash a truck through the building in order to gain access. Owner Darren Erickson (formerly of Killam) provided Caribou Publishing with the below footage. The original story was published in the August 18 edition of the Tofield Mercury.
In the first video (above), you can see a pickup truck pull up. One of the suspects is seen peering into the window and kicks the glass front door once, before apparently instructing the driver to back up and ram the front with the pickup, completely destroying the front of the building. The truck then backs up and the suspects enter.
In the second video, thieves are seen taking objects from the building and struggling to load the safe into the back of the truck before speeding off.
The truck appears to be a mid-90s model GMC Sierra extended cab. Cpl. John Powell commented on Monday that he believed the vehicle could be stolen.
