A special letter for Hardisty residents
Dear Editor,
On Wednesday, July 1st as our oldest daughter Koren, was making her way from Saskatchewan to the Edmonton airport on her way home to Nova Scotia, she had a motor vehicle accident. She was wearing her seatbelt (safety message inserted here) and so wasn’t seriously injured when she totalled her pickup.
Every parent’s worst fear is to get that call saying “I’m being taken to the hospital in Hardisty to be checked out” especially when you are three-quarters of the way across the country.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all those who looked after our daughter so kindly and professionally.
To the first responders and police who cared for her, picked up her belongings strewn about the wreck (she was moving,) and even brought her suitcase to the hospital – that was so appreciated.
To the local person who collected her cat from the scene and delivered her to her owner, that was so kind.
To the nursing staff and physician at the hospital who so competently assessed, treated, and cared for her until a buddy could pick her up, we are thankful for your professionalism.
We live in a friendly, rural area of the Maritimes and were so pleased to find that that the kindness of strangers was extended to our very grateful daughter.
Please don’t lose those qualities.
