Flagstaff Players premieres new Agatha Christie Whodunnit

Tension builds as characters start dropping like flies during the Flagstaff Players performance of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, which debuted Friday, Feb. 15, and will continue Feb. 21 and 22 at the Sedgewick Community Hall.

Director Michele Edey welcomed the audience, and encouraged them to take part in a silent auction fundraiser for the Larry Kennedy family.

Kennedy was a member of the theatre group, and had already been cast in a role for this play before his sudden death in December.

Edey said, “Larry would be angry if we didn’t go on,” and added that the entire cast felt it was appropriate to donate their silent auction proceeds to his family.

Kudos go immediately to the set designers, as the seascape is simply stunning, and the art deco styling puts us firmly into the late 1930s, where Christie’s play takes place.

As the play starts, the audience meets the 10 characters who will meet an untimely demise, one after another, until only one remains.

It appears that the visitors to the mansion, located on an island cliff of the coast of Devon, UK, have been brought together as punishment for past deeds, accepting invitations from Mr. and Mrs. ‘Owen’ who end up as no-shows, leaving the 10 strangers to get along without them.

What starts as a light-hearted weekend outing soon has our ten guests trying to stay alive.

Just when you think you’ve got it figured out, however, your main suspect turns up dead!
This is a terrific production from the entire ensemble.
