Local communities benefit during ATB Financial’s 75th
In honour of the ATB Financial’s 75th anniversary, branches around the province disbursed a total of $236,000 to various community groups, celebrating their 75th anniversary by giving back to the community.
Chris Raab, Killam ATB Branch Manager, presented Killam Public School Parent Council Vice President Christina Kuilboer with a cheque for $500, to be used towards their project of upgrading the score clock in the school gym.
Raab also presented Killam Municipal Library Board member Michelle Hale with a cheque for $500.
Hale said that it is also the Library’s 75 anniversary this year, coincidentally.
The branch also donated a 2’ blue spruce to the town of Killam for Heritage Park, representing ATB’s deep community roots, said Raab. Guests enjoyed a beef on a bun and cake during the branch celebration.
ATB Financial agencies also received a set amount of money to donate within their community as they saw fit, according to some guidelines of course. Denise Bratland, who operates the ATB Financial Agency in Lougheed, decided to support the Lougheed Walking Path Society, a deserving local non-profit group.
“I wanted to recognize the outstanding efforts of its members; for their work around the village to beautify and establish a safe place for people to walk or run,” she says.
In Daysland, the ATB branch teamed with the Daysland Hospital Foundation to hold a run, raising over $10,000 for the foundation. The money will help to purchase an ultra-sound machine.
Paul Vieira, the Site Manager for the Daysland Health Clinic, received the cheque from ATB’s Sarah Read.
