Forestburg Library hosts local artists for Alberta Culture Days

Forestburg Library hosted over the works of over 16 local artists in celebration of Alberta Culture Days over two days, starting Friday, Sept. 27.


On Saturday, Sept. 28, some of those artists came to chat with visitors to the display.

Forestburg Library Co-managers Lori Trudeau and Cathy Wells, who are also artists, contributed pieces of their art.

Wayne Helmig, of Forestburg, carves designs in antlers that are mounted on wood from diamond willow trees.

Marj Lunty, a locally known painter, says, “I try to tell a story with my paintings.

“I have to stop at the right place or could go too far with color or detail, the painting still has to say something to the viewer, not just to me.”

Many local artists also displayed their arts and crafts.
