RCMP extremely concerned about Forestburg break-ins – culprits targetting homes of seniors
Sgt. Lee Brachmann, NCO/ic of the Killam/ Forestburg RCMP Detachment says he’s very concerned about recent break-ins which occurred in Forestburg from June 30 to Aug. 1.
“These break-ins are targetting one of the most vulnerable groups,” says Brachmann, “and we are very concerned.”
On June 30, RCMP responded to a complaint of break and enter to a Forestburg residence that had occurred overnight.
Some medications were noted to be missing. As well, a quantity of cash was also removed from the victim’s wallet.
The victims were at home at the time of the break-in, and noted in the morning that the front door to the house was open.
The same property was also broken into July 2, again during the night. Police believe entry was gained through the back door, which appeared to have been forced open, again while the residents were in the home.
